1 Answer SOURCE: I just got onto a technician who solved the problem for me. What he had me do was:-. Pull dowwn the slider and use a pen to press the ACL button. That didn't fix it so. Take off the slider (the way you would to change the batteries). There is an ABCD slider switch and mine was set to 'C'. I moved it back to 'A' and now it works!
I am not sure how it got to 'C' though??? The other thing is I had been messing around with the 'Manual/Auto' button under the grill on the wall unit. It was set so that the A/C was off. I'm not sure if that is significant. Hope that helps.

You can check its infra-red emission, by a mobile phone having camera option. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, check this link. If the remote control emits infra-red emission, and still TV do not respond to it, the fault will be due to a damaged infrared sensor inside TV.
This part can be located just behind the infrared window at the front panel of the TV set. You have to open the TV, to access it and to replace with a new one.
The part will look somewhat like these. Jun 11, 2013.
Hello First check its battery contacts for any rust or dirt accumulated on it. If so, contacts of battery will not touch properly, and the unit will fail to work. The second reason for malfunction is due to the infrared sensor inside your tV. If it is faulty, the set won't respond to infrared signal generated by the remote control. If so, eventhough remote control works properly, the set won't work with it. Remote sensor comes just behind the infrared window at the bottom front panel of your TV.
It is a replacable part and not so costly too. It is a three terninal component will look brownish black in colour. It will looke like this. The procedure to check the remote control for its perfect working is described at a tip I've given and published by Fixya on Google.

We have a split type gree aircon, with one (1) horsepower. It was just newly installed, around 6 months ago. We are just surprised that one when my wife turned it on, thru the use of its remote control, the indicator box on the aircon reads or flashes 'F2'.
I detached the batteries of the remote control for severa hours and I also detached the power cord from the wall socket, but it was to no avail. It did not work. With 'F2' on the indicator box, the aircon won't give cool air, it is just working like an ordinary fan. Please help us.
